Mayflower 400 Southampton

Programme of events & activities

2020 marked the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower from Southampton to the New World.

Inspired by Southampton's City of Sanctuary status, Caterina instigated a highly inclusive approach to the programme of events and activities across the city, making the city the first to mark a Mayflower anniversary through the lens of migration.

Having secured awards of £269,000 from Arts Council England and £98,000 from National Lottery Heritage Fund, matched by Southampton City Council, Caterina led partners across the city, to deliver a near year-long, £875,000, programme of projects as part of the national Mayflower 400 year.
